With a new chef and new menu, we’re just getting started at Normandie Restaurant — and you can get started too! There’s a variety of delicious options for starters, or appetizers, when it comes to the Normandie Restaurant, and we have the breakdown of how you can start your meal with a bang.

If you love shellfish, then you’ll find a variety from which to choose on the menu. There’s the classic shrimp cocktail served with house cocktail sauce, or a dressed-up-version — coconut shrimp— served with homemade sweet Thai chili sauce. Spice it up with spicy garlic shrimp, served with artichoke, sun-dried tomato and roasted garlic. Stay in the shellfish family and try the baked scallops with sherry cream and parmesan bread crumbs.

Seafood lovers will love the island crab cake, with lump crab, Napa slaw and remoulade. Or try the curry mussels with a mild curry cream sauce. Both are local favorites that can be shared easily between a couple or friends.

Land lovers will enjoy the beef tenderloin tips in a caramelized onion, mushroom and brandy reduction or the fresh mozzarella bruschetta with balsamic glaze. These hearty options pair well with pasta and even seafood main entrees.

If you’re looking for more traditional menu items, choose from a house salad, grilled chicken gorgonzola salad or classic Caesar salad; or lobster bisque or Manhattan clam chowder soups. The lobster bisque is a local favorite that’s difficult to resist!
